Machining

The machining [1] comprises the process of mechanical roughing that aims to shape a part, whether metallic or not, this material is called raw material, whose name in the industries can be changed by raw material

According to the Michaelis Dictionary [2] machining means the act or effect of machining. In practice this means subjecting a raw material to the action of a machine and / or tool, to be worked [3].

There are several machining processes, among them sawing, planing, turning, milling (or milling), drilling, broaching, electroerosion, among others. Machining began in remote times with fully manual processes and today has evolved greatly with the use of high precision machines, such as the so-called CNC (computerized numerical control), with a precision that is as small as 1 micron. Nowadays, the machining is present in several industries, as the automotive, the naval, the aerospace, the electronics, the one of appliances.
