The truth behind the myths

You must have listened to many legends or stories from your parents, grandparents or any other adult. Popular myths spread this way and can cross generations. Who has never been afraid to drink milk with mango or leave the flip flop causing the death of the mother?

Now it's easy to find out when some fact is myth or is really true. Especially with the spread of the internet and greater access to education, many myths have been revealed. Let's to see some of these stories (4 of them).

1- Manga with milk does evil (False)

As we have already seen here in the Unknown Facts mango with milk does not harm to health. The planters to contain milk theft, which was an exclusive food of the nobles, invented that the combination between mango (slave food) and milk could be fatal. The legend continues to this day.

2- Cockroaches Would Survive a Nuclear Attack (True)

Cockroaches are much tougher than humans. These dancers who hide in their wardrobes can survive various hostile environments. Regarding radiation, while the limit for humans is 600 rad, cockroaches survive at doses of around 3,200 rads.

3- It makes bad to leave the bath to a very cold place (False)

Getting warm from the bath, gym, sauna and having an environment or cooler air will not harm your body. At least here in Brazil. Our climate is not so extreme that it causes a person to have a thermal shock after leaving the bath, for example.

4- Dogs smell the "fear" (False)

No need to be apprehensive, dear reader. Much is heard about dogs that are advancing precisely on the person who is most afraid and so the statement that dogs smell of fear is so common. In fact, the dog does not smell the fear, what happens is that it perceives the physical change that happens when you have this feeling: the palpitations and the sweat increase, the breathing changes and is accelerated, the muscular tension also increases considerably and in general the person starts to have stealthy movements or is in a submissive posture and most of the time runs away.
