Chess game

Chess

Por Luis Gabriel Barletto e Luis Gambatti

Description:

The game of Chess has two participants, who use a board to play.
• Players - 2.
• Parts - 32 pieces, 16 white and 16 black. Since both colors have:
• 2 Torres
• 2 Horses
• 2 bishops
• 1 lady
• 1 king
• 8 pedestrians

• Tray - board of 64 houses, light and dark.
• Goal - To impose checkmate on the opponent or his performance.

Definitions:

 Sheikh - King under threat of capture;
 Checkmate - King under threat of capture, without him being able to escape;
• Capture - Certain piece takes the position of another opposing piece;
• This is removed from the game;
• Match history - Notation of all plays made in a match;
• Save game - Save a game so you can play at another time. (Option available only in room "galera");
• Load game - Continue a previously saved game. (Option available only in room "galera").

Victory:

There are only 2 ways a player can win. Are they:
• If the player makes a check-mate to the opponent.
• If the opponent gives up the game.

Handling of Parts:

• Tower - The tower moves only horizontally (board lines) or vertical (board columns).
• Bishop - This piece moves only on the diagonals of the board.
• Lady - A lady can move both horizontally and vertically (as well as a tower) or on diagonals (as well as a bishop).
• King - Moves in any direction but limited in number of houses. The limit of houses that a king can move is one house per set. The king can NEVER make a move that results in a check for him.
• Pawn - The pawn can only move adjacent to its previous position, ie it can not go back. The pawn as well as the king can only move 1 house forward per move, however, when the pawn is still in its starting position, this can make a jump of 2 houses ahead.
• Horse - It is the only piece that can "jump" over other pieces. The movement of the horse is made in the form of an "L", that is, it walks 2 houses in either direction (vertical or horizontal) and then another in a perpendicular direction.
No piece, when moved, can occupy a house that is already being occupied by another piece of the same color.
When the destination house of a piece, when in movement, is being occupied by an opponent's colored piece, the moving piece will capture the opponent.
Capture made by pawn-type parts is only possible when the part to be captured is moved one line ahead and one column right or left. The catch occurs diagonally.

Pedestrian Promotion:

A pawn, when reaching the last line of the board (in the case of white line 8, and in the case of black line 1) is promoted, the player is required to choose between one of the following pieces to replace it:
• Lady
• Tower
• Bishop
• Horse

Special Movements:

• Roque - It is a movement that involves 2 pieces of the same color. They are the King and any of the towers. The roque is made by moving the king 2 houses to either side horizontally. In order to make a roque it is obligatory to satisfy the following conditions:
  • The King can not have been stirred until the moment of the roque. It has to be in the starting position.
  • Like the King, the Tower can not be moved either, so it must be in its initial position.
  • The houses that the King will pass through can not be under threat from the opposing pieces.
  • There can not be any part blocking the path where King and Tower will pass.
  • NOTE: To perform the Roque, click on the King and click on the desired position. The system will automatically move the Tower.
• Capture en-passant - This capture is a special type made by pedestrians. Rules for in-passant capture:
  • The pawn to be captured must have made the initial bid of 2 houses.
  • The pawn that will do the capture can do it as if the pawn to be captured was exactly 1 house in front of its initial position and moved 1 column left or right as in normal capture.

Draw:

A match is considered tied when:
• A player can no longer make plays considered legal.
• One player proposes the tie and the other accepts.
• Players no longer have enough pieces to checkmate the opponent. Insufficient material is considered:
  • The king is a bishop
  • The king is a horse
  • The King and two Horses against a King alone
• One player offers checkmate.
• Make 50 moves without capture and without pawn movement.
• Certain position occurs for the 3rd time during a match.
